What size urn do I need?
The average amount of ashes produced following the cremation of an adult is approximately 3 to 3.5 litres. This amount depends, among other things, on the height and weight of the deceased, as well as their bone structure; whether a coffin or bier was used; the type of wood and size of the coffin; and so on.
It is best to contact your funeral director or crematorium to enquire about the exact amount of ashes.
