Mango wood urns

Mango wood is a warm, strong and durable natural product sourced from the mango tree, which grows in abundance in Thailand. The trees grow quickly and produce wood with a characteristic, warm colour and a lively grain. When mango trees no longer bear fruit, they are felled and replaced by young saplings. This creates a fully renewable cycle, in which the wood is only used once the tree has finished bearing fruit – a particularly sustainable form of timber production.

One advantage of mango wood is that it is naturally biodegradable. When an urn is buried in the ground, the wood decomposes naturally within a few months. For urns placed indoors or in a columbarium, mango wood retains its beauty and warmth, ensuring it maintains a stylish and natural appearance for a lifetime.

Handmade urns

Our mango wood urns are handcrafted in Thailand by experienced woodworkers who know the material inside out. Each piece of wood is carefully selected for its colour, grain and quality, before being turned and shaped using traditional tools. The natural characteristics of the wood are preserved as much as possible, giving each urn a unique, warm appearance.
After shaping, the urn is sanded by hand and finished with a natural oil or wax. This brings out the grain beautifully and keeps the wood well protected, without altering its character. Production is small-scale, carried out with respect for people and nature, and supports local artisans and sustainable forestry in Thailand.
